Molly Renner Lamb

Some people are just lucky and know what God created them to do in life.  From the time Molly was a little girl, she knew what she wanted to be: a cowgirl and an artist.

Molly and her husband, Jason Lamb, are 3rd generation ranchers and seedstock producers who raise registered Black Angus and commercial black and black baldy cattle on their ranch near Russell Springs, Kansas.  Having raised their two daughters, Maddie and Macey, Molly is now pursuing a professional art career.

Molly Renner Lamb was born in Eastern Colorado and grew up horseback working cattle with her dad.   Having worked in the cattle and ranching industry her entire life has ingrained a deep passion and respect for livestock and the cowboy way of life.  As a cowgirl and cattlewoman, her personal experience and understanding show in her artwork.   Molly has a passion for her mediums of choice, clay sculptures and charcoal with graphite drawings.  While she admires the beauty of paintings, she also feels there is something comforting about the softness and earthiness of the absence of color, which causes the viewer to use their imagination.  She admires artists who put a lot of "action" in their work, such as Will James and Charlie Russell. Molly sculpts from her imagination, life experiences and observation while focusing on the fine details.

Molly is a self-educated artist, with no formal education.  Attending a Mary Ross Bucholz drawing workshop in 2022 and a Jason Scull, sculpting workshop in 2023, were wonderful learning experiences.  Molly is continually striving to learn more techniques and improve her skills.  She doesn’t like to use the word “create” to refer to the process of making her art, as God is the only true creator.  She prefers to use the adjectives “creative” and “artistic”.  Molly knows it is important to use the gifts God has given her to be a blessing to others.

Molly’s goal as an artist is to connect with the viewer through a sense of familiarity, an understanding of the story being told, while invoking a feeling or emotion.
